CBS Sunday Morning with Tracy Smith examines hazing death of
Carson Starkey.
Hank
Nuwer is a writer and social critic who writes on the topic of hazing
as an international human rights abuse.
He
writes and
teaches investigate reporting and other journalism courses at Franklin
College In Indiana. Occasionally he gives public talks
on hazing at other institutions (Cornell
University, University of Maine, University of Michigan, etc.) Nuwer's
philanthropy work is for
HazingPrevention.org
and the Buffalo
State Hank Nuwer Hazing Collection for
scholars, students and journalists.
Some
of his
shorter pieces on hazing appear in Human Behavior, American Legion, The
New York Times Sunday Magazine, Stophazing.org,
Harpers
and
Sports Illustrated for Kids. His scholarly research on hazing is
published in books such as Broken Pledges, The Hazing Reader,
High
School

Hank Nuwer has written longer stories on other subjects for

father, grandparent, teacher, journalism colleague, labrador retriever

skydiving, flyfishing, weightlifting and hiking outdoors.
