Alabama band hazing

The Selma City School Board is looking into hazing allegations involving members of the Selma High School Band and its director, who was placed on administrative leave.The board met behind closed doors last night to discuss the matter. According to an article in today’s Selma Times-Journal, several students were suspended. A school board attorney said in a statement — “there was a problem with several students in the band room and the problem was dealt with immediately.” The paper identified the band director as Brandon Williams. No other information was released, but a school board spokeswoman said in another statement that Selma school officials will not tolerate hazing in any form.
