Charges to be dropped

Charges against eight men accused in a fraternity hazing case that left a VSU junior injured are being conditionally dropped.

Wayne Bowser, Maurice Brown, Matthew Brown, Isaac Montgomery, Richard Roman, Maurice Hutton, Christopher Cannaday and Jaramis Whitaker will be cleared of hazing charges if they organize and complete VSU campus presentations on Greek life and hazing.

The eight men were accused of hazing and injuring a VSU junior in January. The victim had been trying to join the Phi Beta Sigma fraternity.

A hearing is scheduled to finalize the case in December.
