ASTORIA, Ore. (AP) — The assault case against four former members of the Molalla High School boys basketball team has ended with no contest pleas in a deal with prosecutors.
The four players admitted they assaulted a younger teammate during a 2006 road trip after a series of hazing incidents escalated, with at least one older teammate penetrating the boy using his finger.
They had been charged with sex abuse — which could have required them to register as sex offenders if convicted.
