Philippines may have seen another hazing death: details unconfirmed, however

Link and excerpt below:

A student succumbed to injuries suffered in a fraternity hazing in the Science City of Muñoz in Nueva Ecija province Sunday night, dzRH radio reported Monday.

The report cited sketchy initial information identifying the victim as Mark Rodriguez, a “candidate” for membership in the Tau Gamma Phi fraternity.

It said the incident took place in Catalanacan village, supposedly near the campus of the Central Luzon State University at 6 p.m. Sunday.

Initial reports indicated Rodriguez’s legs and thighs had turned purple because of paddle blows.

Rodriguez’s body was brought to the St. James Funeral Homes in San Jose City for autopsy.
