Glenwood Cooperative, 503 University St., has been placed on probation today by the University for violating hazing regulations.

According to a press release, the cooperative, a women’s house, will be on probation until the end of the new member education system, which is late in the fall 2008 semester.

The cooperative was found to have subjected new members to psychological abuse by depriving them of sleep, having them attend mandatory social functions and blindfolding and taking them to an unknown fraternity house and then instructing them to perform demeaning activities.

These incidents occurred Aug. 20-21 and probation was set today following an Office of the Dean of Students’ investigation and hearing.
