Student charged with assault in a hazing incident says heâ€™s not guilty because these things were done to him at Norwich..

Twenty-year-old Noel N. Fernando is accused of hitting a freshman cadet under his command with a broomstick and other items. Fernando told police he endured such things when he was a freshman, and that he didnâ€™t see any harm in them.

His current book is Hazing: Destroying Young Lives from Indiana University Press. He is married to Malgorzata Wroblewska Nuwer of Fairbanks, Alaska.
