We’ll say our company’s name is Helium Toys.
Your goal: Either make a 30-second TV and Internet spot
or, a half-page ad in a magazine.
The most easily recognizable ad techniques are those that provide a “reason why” to buy a product or to prefer one product over another.
Advertisers don’t like to say that one product is “better” than another because that’s something that can be measured and might be false advertising.
Tell a story: or example, an ad could show how a product would be useful in a particular situation without saying anything outright about its quality.
Show prices in small text: IBuyers instinctively think a price in smaller text is lower! Ours is a bargain at $49.99. Helium sold separately.
Make the young customer feel good about the product.
Humor and visual effects may be useful.
Choose up teams of four: 20-25 minutes for a commercial with an imaginary shark in that commercial. Questions???
Let’s get started.
