Winston-Salem football film by Jonathan Wedlock subject of Chronicle of Higher Ed scrutiny

Orlando, Fla.

Chronicle post: Chico Caldwell, athletics director at Winston-Salem State University, delivered a cautionary tale about a football player who wants to become a Hollywood filmmaker.

In mid-May, after graduating from the North Carolina institution, Jonathan Wedlock, a.k.a. DrLock1007, a star running back for his college team, the Rams, posted a video on YouTube ….” The five-minute clip, identified as a film about Winston-Salem State football, showed a fistfight between two ex-athletes, up-close shots of scantily clad women dancing, a depiction of players mixing grain alcohol, a picture of an athlete defacing another university’s property, and enough foul language to make a rapper blush.
