UNI BINGE DRINK BAN

A UNIVERSITY has banned binge drinking games and alcohol-fuelled “initiation” ceremonies after one of its first-year students died last year.

Gavin Britton, 18, had been out with the Golf Society when he was found dead in fancy dress [Editor: he was made to wear a wig and dress much like pro baseball players on some teams make rookies wear] in the centre of Exeter.

Students’ union president Jemma Percy said: “I think students realise we are not trying to stop their fun.”
